White Rabbit with Young

Wit Konijn met Jongen (original Dutch title)

Color lithograph on tan wove paper.
Reference: De Groot 159.5.
Calendar page for May 1910. Van Hoytema became known for his annual calendars. This composition has a strong Are Nouveau thanks to the marginal flower design, as well as an attractive depiction of rabbits. White rabbits are also depicted in one of the artists’ most famous monochromatic lithographs, in which the artist embossed the hairs by scraping the stone.

Pinholes at the top, as well as transparent tape residue in two spots in the right sheet edge. Still overall in fine condition, with fresh colors.
